Our society, spoiled by the endless diversions of the internet, now demands more than mere television of its televisions. Toshiba understands, packing Vudu Movies and a host of web content into its Wi-Fi friendly UX600 1080p HDTV.
We've known since January that Vudu was due to show up in Toshiba hardware, and the UX600 is the first device to include it, letting couch potatoes stream a library of over 5000 HD movies and access web services ranging from Pandora to YouTube, Facebook to Flickr.
The TV also lets viewers program a customized ticker for the bottom of the screen, displaying Tweets, stock quotes, news headlines and the like. Televisions: now complete with the full doing-too-many-things-at-once distraction of the internet.
The set itself is LED-backlit, offers full 1080p HD, and is less than 2" thick. It includes a Wi-Fi adapter in the box, so you start your more full-featured time wasting as quickly and efficiently as possible.
